Under Construction

Please be patient.  My BLOG is currently under construction.  I'm in the processes of getting a new camera (old one broke) and learning how to upload the picutures (my BLOG photo album is full)!  Thanks for being patient while I get this all worked out!  Hopefully it will be up and running in a few weeks.

Small Animal Care

The Small Animal Care class from the Albert Lea High School came over last week to show our 2nd graders an 8 month old litter of Boston Terrier / Pug puppies.  They were a HUGE hit with our kids.

Leap To Read

Hello Families,

Wednesday was Leap Day so we celebrated by "leaping" into another classroom to read. All of our 2nd graders moved to another room in our hallway and spent a half hour reading! WOW . . . was that a cool thing to witness. Everyone at Hawthorne School reading at the same time .

(bring your favorite pair of flip flops to school in your bookbag and wear them inside during the day)

Wednesday, February 8th - Sunglasses Day

Thursday, February 9th - Bring a beach towel and curl up with a favorite book

Book Fair Hours:

Thursday, February 9th from 3:00-7:00 pm

Friday, February 10th from 8:00-3:30 pm

Thursday, February 16th from 3:00-7:00 pm

Alternative Lunch

Starting January 9th, Hawthorne students will be offered an alternative lunch choice.  Your child will be able to choose between the regular menu or the alternative.  Each morning your child can pick which lunch he/she would like to have.  If you have any questions, please give me a call. The alternative choices will be on a routine schedule:

Monday – turkey and cheese sandwich

Tuesday – egg salad sandwich

Wednesday – ham and cheese sandwich

Thursday – tuna salad on wheat bread

Friday – egg and cheese chef salad
