iPads

Here are some of the cool things we are doing on our iPads:

Elisa is working on math facts with "Flash to Pass."

Job uses a Scrabble game to work on spelling.

Becca uses the "Doodle Buddy" program.

Ari takes notes (on an electronic post-it).

Carter plays Math Bingo to learn his math facts.

This week, we brainstormed some guidelines for iPad use.  Here are some of the important things we came up with:

1.  always hold the iPad with 2 hands when
     standing or moving
2.  put the iPad on your lap or the table
     (never on the floor)
3.  follow all teacher directions
4.  soccer hands . . . means don't touch a friend's screen
5.  keep the cart locked at all times
6.  it's all about the learning

Here is a picture of the cart which is also our docking stations.  This is how we  recharge the iPads and download apps.  Teacher's ONLY are responsible for plugging in the iPads to charge since the connectors are very fragile.

OUR IPADS ARE HERE!
Go to the "ipads" tab to see pictures of our class with their new ipads.
They arrived at Hawthorne on Friday, November 11th. What an exciting day.

Miss Miller & Mrs. Carlson unload the cart for the 1st time.

We practiced some of the basic ipad "moves".

Nic is all smiles as he uses his new ipad.
Mrs. Carlson helps Zoe and Alex.
Quincy and Mrs. Harpham explore all the exciting sites.
We used the camera to take a picure of ourselves.

Jenna sees her beautiful face smiling back at her.
